I always get asked if I prefer a specific kind of weather for my sessions, and the truth is... no! If you're worried about having a cloudy day for your session, let me reassure you. I think cloudy days can be just as beautiful. In fact, cloudy days can be a blessing in disguise. When we're on the beach, the sun is BRIGHT until the last 10 minutes of your session. Often times we have to hide from the sun and work around it. But when it's cloudy we can go anywhere, take photos from every angle, and not have to worry about squinting through the sun rays!
Clouds act as a diffuser and it gives photos another layer of depth. It's like the world slows down, and the mood becomes so much more intimate. I think that’s what makes these maternity photos so special - it feels more about the connection between Ben and Lindsey rather than about a pretty photo with a pretty backdrop. It truly makes for a one-of-a-kind session, and I’m so glad for clients that embrace the cloudy days!
